((I’ll reply tomorrow Jess. I’m sleepy and have to give a presentation tomorrow.))
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS IF YOU’RE GOING TO POST A REPCOM PICTURE AT LEAST TAG THE RIGHT COMMANDO.
THEY’RE NOT EVEN HARD TO TELL APART.
IF YOU WERE POSTING ONE OF ONE OF THE OMEGAS THAT WOULD BE UNDERSTANDABLE. BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME ARMOR.
THE DELTA’S DON’T.
SEV IS NOT SCORCH.
I REPEAT.
SEV IS NOT SCORCH.
((No seriously. My Cody is Dar. They are one and the same. I didn’t even mean to do this. FUCK.))
“Fighting a war.” It was the only thing he could think to say. He didn’t mean it to be snarky or rude, it was simple fact. He had been on a mission far out of comm range. War wasn’t quick or clean. And it didn’t care if you had twins who were wondering where you were.
“You know I would have commed if I could. But I couldn’t risk the mission and my men’s lives. Even on a secure link there was still a chance of detection.” He hoped she would understand. He knew a little of her history and figured she might get it with all the wars she had been a part of.She wants to be nice. She wants to say ‘oh I understand.’ but she can’t.
“There are more ways than just a comm link commander. Yes it may have taken a bit more effort but for you only children and worried wife I don’t think it would have been too much trouble.” She seathes
“Ma’am with all due respect, I can’t exactly tell the enemy to stop bombarding us while I sit down and write a note. And if I had gotten a moment when I didn’t need to lead some men to their deaths I would have had to spend it treating the men who had been injured so that I could send them too. Believe me if there was the option to talk to you and the boys I would have jumped at it. But there wasn’t.” His voice remained calm but he was getting furious. He didn’t have a choice. If he didn’t keep fighting… he didn’t even want to think of the consequences, both dished out by the Republic and his own guilt for leaving his brothers to die while he live a happy life with Eliza and the boys.
She had been making the twins dinner when he walked in the door. Now it is all she can do not to take her cast iron frying pan and beating the living hell out of him. He had been gone for two months with no word. She had raised the boys with no help, though she was not bothered by this. What bothered her is not being able to properly explain to the boys where their father was and why he was gone. First things first she needs to get the boys out of the house so Cody and her can talk.
Eliza walks over to the phone and arranges for the twins’ godmother, Kar, to take them. Once the boys leave Eliza says the first words she has said to him in two months.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”
